SAL Logistics and Madinah Region Development Authority partner to enhance airport logistics

SAL Logistics Services has signed a cooperation agreement with the Madinah Region Development Authority to enhance logistics services and smart facilities at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airpor in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

The agreement aims to improve air cargo operations, support exporters and suppliers, and introduce smart facility systems at the airport.

The initiative is intended to align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to establish the country as a global logistics hub.

Saleh bin Ahmed Aldaini, chief shared services officer at SAL Logistics Services, said: “Our collaboration with the Madinah Region Development Authority will enhance air cargo operations and provide innovative, sustainable solutions that contribute to the region’s economic growth.

“This initiative will help address challenges faced by exporters and importers while improving the logistics performance index in Madinah.”

Under the agreement, both parties will explore the implementation of smart facility systems at the airport and assess the feasibility of extending these systems to SAL’s other facilities.

A joint strategy will also be developed to enhance exports and improve logistics solutions for businesses in the region.

Additionally, the agreement includes initiatives such as a study on environmental sustainability at Madinah Airport, support for regional events and seasonal activities, and the formation of a joint task force to coordinate logistics workshops and initiatives.
